Abstract:
Motivating employees is a fundamentally important part of successful management and a crucial aspect of a leader’s role. Significant organizational outcomes can be obtained by having staff that are motivated. These include: Increased productivity in the workplace

Reduced absenteeism and turnover
Increased innovation and creativity
Increased employee and customer satisfaction
An enhanced company profile
Higher quality products or services

Introduction:
Motivating your employees is not always the easiest of tasks, but it does pay off in the long run for you and your employee. One of the best techniques to build and maintain employee motivation is to make it a habit to recognize your employees. By habit, have an event for your employees quarterly to show that they’re appreciated. You may even have office parties. This will build and maintain employee motivation though ongoing sincere recognition and deserving rewards. Employers should also provide sponsored hands-on workshops and training in order to facilitate delivery of appreciation for their employees. Workshops and training may take the form of formal lectures or informal “brown bag” seminars depending upon the demands of your employees. Overall, recognition is just one of the top five motivators, actually is the most powerful employee motivator of all.

This paper will show that motivating employees increase office morale, which makes the organization a better environment and a great place to work for everyone. You create a great interest through internal and external motivation. Even though external motivators are beneficial for the moment, it doesn't last forever. The importance of motivating employees is based upon improving employee performance and that is generally determined by three things: competency, motivation, and the work environment. If an employee is lacking with their job performance the supervisor can provide training or place the employee in a different section of that particular office that is beneficial to all and in that case it keeps everyone motivated and happy. One of the greatest challenges supervisors face on a day to day basis is how to motivate employees internally and externally. In an ideal world, all employees would be energetic, ambitious, able to make plans, get things done and dedicated to the mission of the company, but in reality, that's not always the case. Depending on the workforce, department or team of employees you have working with and for you, internal and external motivation can be incredibly consuming and take up most of your energy, time and resources. It is important to realize that each worker has different ways of motivating them. Some are motivated by internal drives and resources, while others need external factors to get them going on the job. What gets the employee motivated?
