“Maybe she’s born with it. Maybe it’s Maybelline.”

Maybelline is a number one cosmetic brand in America. The brand has spread worldwide, include Indonesia. Maybelline is owned by L’Oréal, the largest cosmetic and beauty company with the headquarter in Paris. Maybelline was a small-owned family business and now it is a renowned brand in the cosmetic world. Although Maybelline successfully become a famous brand worldwide, we know that nowadays there are many another cosmetic brand come to the market. The new brand isn’t only from US or European countries, but also from Asia as well. Nowadays, in Indonesia, the popular brand is from Korea because of the famous Korean singers hit the entertainment world. The SWOT analysis of Maybelline is:

* Maybelline’s parent company is L’Oréal. Maybelline has top research and development team from the parent company. * Maybelline successfully create an image of stylish, hip, charming, and intelligent in the mind of the customers. * Maybelline has strong market penetration and brand loyalty. Maybelline use a strategic market penetration to increase the growth of the company, increase the sales, and also increase the loyalty of the customers about the brand. * Adapt to the specific country’s market. Some products are same globally and other products are adapted based on the people preferences in their countries. Weakness:

Animal testers. As we know, many people nowadays fight against testing products on animals. Therefore, it makes many people don’t use Maybelline as their cosmetic.

* There is existence of some gaps in the market. Many middle-low class people can’t buy high-end brand or expensive cosmetic. Therefore, Maybelline can fit in the gaps and sell the products to the middle-low class people. * Maybelline has an opportunity to extend the product line because many people nowadays like to try new range of cosmetic products.
