Binge Eating Disorder
Binge Eating Disorder only affects about 5% of the population. Binge Eating Disorder (BED) is an overeating disorder but unlike bulimia nervosa, binge eaters don't vomit after they binge eat they retain the food they eat. BED is a relatively new disorder as it was just accepted by FDA.

Binge Eating Disorder commonly means eating mass amounts of food. Binge Eating Disorder is usual caused by stress or depression. BED is different than bulimia nervosa because binge eaters don't do anything to loss the weight such as forcing themselves to vomit. Binge eaters often feel out of control while they are eating, they often feel bad during and after. Most binge eaters eat alone out of shame of their disorder.

There are many health concerns associated with BED. One of the most obvious and the main problem is obesity. There are other common health concerns that accompany obesity such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease ,diabetes, gallbladder disease, musculoskeletal problems. BED only effects about 1%-5% of the population, more women then men. Not all people with BED are over weight they can be of normal weight. People with BED often try to diet to lose weight but as soon as they get stressed or depressed they will over eat again.

The most common treatment for BED is cognitive behavior therapy. BED is a very dangerous disorder that can worsen depression and cause obesity. There are not to many cures for BED and not a lot is know about the disorder. (Binge Eating Disorder)
